Spring is officially upon us and what better way to spend it than outside, and near the water in #lovecapetown?
I decided to take a stroll to the V&A Waterfront and, with the heart of a tourist, I took a photo of the Table Mountain N7W frame. It really is the ‘picture perfect’ view of our beautiful mountain. I can’t believe I haven’t done this before.
After just a few minutes in the beautiful Spring sun and I was in need of a touch of shade… so, off TO the Springbok Experience Rugby Museum.
I cannot believe how much fun I had there… I am NOT the ‘sport’ girl, but this museum is a MUST SEE.
As the curator said to me, “this is not a rugby museum; it is a museum of the history of South Africa through the eyes of rugby.”
There are over 60 interactive screens in this amazing themed museum… and the best thing is … YOU CAN TOUCH STUFF. Haha. And you will not believe this: the Australia vs South Africa tournament organisers had come to collect the ACTUAL Nelson Mandela Challenge plate, to go Down Under for the event. AND I GOT TO HOLD IT!
That was just great timing and the beautiful display cases are so well put together and the history is phenomenal. I was really moved. I will definitely be spending another day there.
To end of my excursion I was off to feed my hunger… so much to choose from, so I decided to head to an old favourite, the V&A Market on the Wharf. Always a great vibe and there is an Asian place upstairs that does an amazing Thai green curry. Some delicious food, great company and a beautiful day out in the sunshine.
Man oh man… I #lovecapetown and I feel like Cape Town loves me.
